ESAK GARCIA! Sunday, March 4, 11:30a.m. – 4:30p.m.

Announcing our Esak Garcia Workshop!

On Sunday, March 4, Esak Garcia, a National Hatha Yoga Asana Champion, is coming to Radiance Hot Yoga in Glenmont! Our goal continues to bring to you the best instruction and the best environment in which to practice hot yoga. Attending this workshop and class with Esak will be a highlight for all yogis, whether just beginning their journey or a seasoned practitioner. Esak has been practicing and teaching Bikram Yoga for 24 years.  He is a founding board-member of USA Yoga and the International Yoga Sports Federation, the creator of Jedi Fight Club, and creator of the e84 Teacher Training Diploma Program. In 2005 Esak became the 1st male champion of the Bishnu Charan Ghosh Cup, an international yoga asana championship. Since then he has been conducting yoga workshops, retreats and trainings, all around the world.

Work Shop Details:  Esak’s workshop will run from 11:30 am to 2:30 pm. Cost: $75 for workshop and class.
The e84 intermediate class is 3:00 pm-4:30 pm. $30 for class only, but why would you want to miss the workshop??? 🙂 There will be light snacks and drinks available for attendees during the workshop to stay nourished and hydrated for the afternoon class.

The 3-hr workshop will focus on technique for the 26&2 beginners class. It is an opportunity to feed your practice with information that will help you to get more from the time you spend on your mat. Attending this workshop is an opportunity to bring information and insight to your practice. It is a chance to put greater thought and self awareness of the body parts we use into each posture. You will have the chance to ask questions and discuss yoga topics that are important to you.
The e84 Intermediate Class is a heated 90 minute class that builds on the foundation created by the 26&2, known as Bikram Yoga. In this class we’ll begin to introduce new ideas and develop body parts for postures that require skills like arm balancing, leg over the head, deep backbends and lotus. No advanced skills are needed to participate in this class, but comfort practicing 26&2 and a desire to expand are essential. This class prepares students for The 84 Class, from which the 26&2 was derived. The e84 Intermediate Class contains all the 26&2 series postures that you already know; then we expand into new postures and variations. Each class has a slightly different focus in terms of the skills and body parts we are addressing. By developing awareness of your postures and different parts of your body you’ll get new ideas to take back to your 26&2 practice. The parts of class with which you’re familiar will move more quickly, with less instruction; new ideas will be taught more thoroughly.
